2010 Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta:

In less than a week, the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta will once again be held at Clark Freeport Zone. The said event will run from February 11 to 14, 2010.

Dubbed as a “Weekend of everything that flies,” the event features a number of activities that involved, well, everything that flies – hot air balloons, kites, parasailing, skydiving, ultralights and more.

Aside from the “flying attractions,” the event also hosts a number of booths in what it called as a “fly market” which features products from foods, clothing, gadgets, and other specialties.

The main attractions of the event of course, would still be the hot air balloons which come in different shapes, designs and colors. An opportunity to ride a hot air balloon, I believe is also possible for a fee.

These hot air balloons will set flight daily on the schedule of the event, at 5:45 to 7:00 a.m.  from Clark, and will be flying back in at 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Kite flying exhibition takes place at 11:00-11:30 a.m. on February 11 & 12, and at 1:30-2:00 p.m. on February 13 & 14.

The event will end by a Valentine’s Day  fireworks on February 14 at 8:00 p.m.

For a complete list of schedules, visit this page from the event’s official website.

Admission tickets for the hot air balloon fiesta can be bought at the gate at P150 each per person. They may also be pre-ordered from the organizer’s offices. They can be reached at +63 2 384-0085, or through mobile number: +63 927 340-4994.

Tickets are also available via TicketNet and from Recreational Outdoor eXchange at Bonifacio High Street.

Will you ride one of those balloons and blog about the experience? That will be just lovely. Hey, I saw a M. Villar ad on this page. You mentioned in your other blog that Philippines could be the trigger word. I beg to disagree, my good friend. I honestly think it must have been because of these phrase: hot air. Ahahahaha. Me and my dirty mind. :)

My mom got hooked after her first balloon flight, and even talked of learning to fly them..

For my 17th birthday, she treated me to a ride – with her, of course! (No, she wasn’t flying, but she did come along.) It was a thrill. As you say, it’s a bit pricey, but it’s something you should treat yourself to – if you can – at least once in your lifetime. I’d suggest going only if you have the upper body strength to hold on during a slightly fast, rough landing. I remember sort of facing the ground as it wizzed by under me… ;)

Wow! You actually rode a hot air balloon?! Cool!

I do hope I get to experience one, and trek Mt. Pinatubo as well, before I retire

Gusto ko sanang pumunta, but we already had something to do that weekend. Maybe next year :)

It’s been a tradition in the family to go the the yearly Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark because most of the times it would fall on my brother’s birthday. Unfortunately due to classes which we attend even during Saturdays, I was the only one in the family who didn’t go, even our puppies were brought to the festival. Our place was near Clark, and yet I wasn’t able to attend. =c
