Ride a bike and run this weekend!
This weekend kicks off the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, celebrating the triumph of Angeleños from the devastation brought by Mt. Pinatubo.
With the theme “Turning Tragedy into Triumph,” the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) has lined up week-long activities to celebrate the victory of Angeles City and the Angeleños from the Pinatubo eruption in June 1991.
This Saturday, June 4, the celebration kicks off with the “Padyak Para Sa Pagbangon,” a Pinatubo commemoration bike ride around the city.
Assembly and registration for the bike ride will start at 5:00 a.m. in SM City Clark.
The route of the bike ride will cover SM Clark, Nepo Quadrangle, Essel Park, City Hall and back to SM Clark.
The Angeles City Cycling Club will lead the bike ride.
On Sunday, June 5, it will be the runners’ turn to take the street.
The second part of this weekend celebration, the “Takbo Para Sa Tagumpay,” invites all running and health enthusiasts to join this fun run, which will also start at 5:00 a.m. at SM City Clark.
The categories will be 3K, 5K and 10K.
